• Drag a video file onto the mockup
• Paste a video
• Use the Import image or video button in Rotato
• Use the drop area in the Settings sidebar

Supported formats

Rotato supports whatever formats your browser supports.

Here’s a list of Chrome’s supported formats. Other browsers may support slightly different formats, but not wildly different.

Chrome

• mp4
  • Codecs: H.264 (video), AAC (audio)
• webm
  • Codecs: VP9 or VP8 (video), Opus (audio)
• mkv
  • Codecs: VP9 or H.264 (video), AAC or Opus (audio)
  • Special conditions: Limited support, typically needs to be embedded in a WebM container for full compatibility
• ogg
  • Codecs: Theora (video), Vorbis (audio)
• mov Codecs: H.264 or ProRes (video), AAC (audio)
  • Special conditions: Limited support, requires specific conditions
• avi
  • Codecs: DivX, Xvid, or H.264 (video), MP3 or AAC (audio)
  • Special conditions: Not supported without additional plugins or extensions
• hevc (typically in MP4 container)
  • Codecs: HEVC/H.265 (video), AAC (audio)
  • Special conditions: Hardware support required on Windows 8+ and macOS Big Sur 11+
